Camp Fire
CAMP FIRE FASTEST CHEETAHS:
The Fastest Cheetahs have been holding our meetings at Lakewood Village Committee Church since 2015 when our group formed. The kids were in Kindergarten. Our club has helped the church collect canned goods for the Thanksgiving Drive and participated in Camp Fire Sunday during our Candy Sale Fundraiser. Camp Fire encourages new groups to form and can help with that process. Anyone interested in starting their own group can contact the local council, see link below.
Boy Scouts
BOY SCOUT TROOP 65:
Born in the same year as the troop Lakewood Community Church (LVCC) has provided a home to Troop 65 since 1937. This church is proud to be the home of one of the largest troops in the Long Beach area council currently having 55 boys. Troop Meetings are held in the church Fellowship Hall basement the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, 7:30 PM.
Girl Scouts
GIRL SCOUT TROOP 2683: Beginning as a group of kindergarteners across the street at Mark Twain Elementary School, the troop now has girls at more than seven schools in the area including Lakewood High School and Millikan High School. They meet regularly at the church to work on badges and service projects, and to plan adventures including camping trips and troop travel.
